What’s New at Shippo: May 2021 Product Update

At Shippo, we’re building the shipping platform for the future of e-commerce so that merchants of all sizes can ship like retail giants as they grow and scale their businesses. We believe that by simplifying the end-to-end shipping process, we’re helping make our customers’ lives easier. And because we remain laser-focused on creating excellent experiences for our customers and partners, our product vision keeps us constantly striving to solve more and bigger e-commerce challenges.

The team and I have been hard at work this year, building momentum as we partner with businesses large and small, up-level the Shippo experience with new features and integrations, and continue making shipping easier for everyone. Here are a few examples of what that means for our customers:

Ship Faster with Automation Rules

Shippo’s new automation rules (available for our Pro and Premier plan customers) help merchants ship faster and avoid shipping errors to deliver a more frictionless experience to their customers.

You can automate your shipping process by setting up “If-Then” label generation rules based on five potential properties of your orders: Order Weight, Item Name, Item SKU, Shipping Destination, and Total Order Quantity. If you use the same package type or carrier and service level for all or even most of your e-commerce shipments, Shippo’s automations feature also allows you to save your preferences as defaults.

New Integration with Regional Carrier GLS US

With our newly implemented carrier integration, Shippo customers now get access to low cost, overnight or next-day delivery — as well as perks such as more flexible pick-up times — when shipping with technology-driven regional carrier GLS US.

With this new integration, you can now add your own GLS US account, create PNG, PDF, and ZPL II scan-based labels, check rates in real-time, add signature confirmation, easily track packages, and more directly within the Shippo platform.

Simplified Order Management for High-Volume Shippers

We’ve made the Shippo experience even better for customers managing large order volumes by adding functionality that allows them to address in batch, auto-fill addresses on the Orders Page, show carrier account nicknames for rate in batch, add phone numbers for international shipments, and more.

Improved performance on the Order Details page — including 37% faster loading times — also lets our merchants save even more time managing fulfillment, printing labels, and shipping orders. And in addition to all this, we’ve made the label creation process even easier by allowing e-commerce merchants to set default sender and return addresses and easily edit return addresses, improving address autocomplete functionality, and further optimizing the experience for mobile.
