Over the years, many of the most compelling presentations at SXSW came directly from the community. For 2017 SXSW Interactive, we want to talk about the the up-and-coming APIs and technologies that are changing e-commerce around the world. We need your vote to ensure the panel gets selected!

Meet the women reinventing e-commerce

Creating a successful e-commerce company isn't easy. To succeed, founders must solve tactical and strategic challenges, innovate, outperform competitors, recruit talent, ship on time and hope that demand for their products and services grows.

Female entrepreneurs not only have to overcome all the challenges that their male counterparts face, but also have to battle issues like gender stereotyping or sexism to succeed. But three women born outside the United States have co-founded e-commerce companies that changing the shipping and logistics, travel, and food markets. The panelists will share how they did it; from raising money to managing growth, to hiring and more.

Laura Behrens Wu - Shippo
Laura is the CEO and co-founder at Shippo, the multi-carrier shipping API. Shippo helps businesses of any size access compare shipping rates, print labels, track packages and more! Laura co-founded Shippo after personally experiencing the obstacles businesses face when setting up shipping operations for her own e-commerce business. 

Roberta "Beta" AntunesHotel Urbano
Roberta founded one of the most successful Brazilian startups, the online hotel booking agency Hotel Urbano. It was recently acquired by a private equity fund valued at $250M after reaching annual sales of more than US$ 150 million. 

Prachi BaxiSmart Pans
Prachi is cofounder of SmartyPans. SmartyPans is a modern day cooking system that consists of a smart cooking pan and a mobile app. The pan measures weight and temperature as you cook and our app uses this information to compute calories and nutrition in real time.
