What is First Mile Delivery?

First mile delivery typically has to do with the first leg of the supply chain for an online retailer. But it could mean different things for different supply chains. For example, this could mean the transport from a manufacturing facility to the warehouse where those products will be stored. Or it could refer to the first transport from the e-commerce business’s place of operation to the carrier used to deliver the products. Or it could be from an e-commerce business’s warehouse to the fulfillment center that they use.
