Early in Shippo’s history we made the decision to be transparent about the uptime and availability of our services. We launched https://status.goshippo.com where we openly publish information about our system status and report any system outages.
We’ve also recently started posting post-mortem analysis of what caused the outages as well, to share even more information about what happens behind the scenes and what actions we’re taking to prevent future problems.
Today, we’ve taken an additional step to increase the transparency of our platform performance. We will be sharing the response times and uptime percentage of our API on the status page. The data comes from 3rd party services that we employ to monitor our performance. The API response time comes from New Relic, while the API uptime data comes from Pingdom.
We want our customers to feel comfortable relying on Shippo for their critical business operations. Increasing the transparency into our performance is just one more way we hope to earn your trust. All of our customers get at least a 99.9% uptime SLA and we’re constantly investing into improving our API response speed and uptime.
