UPS bills Ground Saver packages at the greater of actual weight or dimensional weight. A light item in an oversized box can cost the same as a much heavier one.
With Shippo's UPS rates, dimensional weight applies only to packages larger than 1 cubic foot (1,728 cubic inches), and the divisor is 166. Multiply length × width × height and divide by 166.
For example, a 16 × 12 × 10 inch box has 1,920 cubic inches. Divided by 166, that rounds up to 12 lb. If the packed box weighs 3 lb, you pay the 12 lb rate.
Heavier packages need UPS Ground or another service.
No single side can be longer than 60 inches.
Measure the longest side, then add the distance around the thickest part.
Packages must be at least 6 inches long and 4 inches high.
UPS- or USPS-supplied boxes aren't allowed for Ground Saver.
Hazardous materials, lithium batteries and ORM-D items aren't accepted.
