USPS Peak Season Price Increases for 2020—What You Need to Know
USPS peak season price increases will be in effect October 18 through December 27, 2020.
To help manage the increased volume during what will be a record holiday shopping season, the USPS will impose temporary price increases on its Commercial services. Even with the increases, which will range from $0.25 to $0.40 for most shipments, the USPS remains a strong option for businesses. For most of all shipments where USPS is currently the most cost-effective option, the same will still be true with the holiday price increases in effect.
These temporary price increases will apply to shippers using Commercial pricing, which includes those that use the USPS through Shippo, and take effect starting October 18 and continue through December 27, 2020.
Rest assured, with Shippo you will still get the absolute lowest-possible USPS rates. Even with the temporary price increases, the rates you pay through Shippo are lower than what you’ll get at the Post Office or through the USPS directly online.
Here are breakdowns of the updated holiday rates for Priority Mail and First Class Package Service with the increases outlined.
