Shippo Expands Global Reach Into Western Europe With Introduction of Seven New Carrier Relationships

New service availability in France and Italy, and expanded service in the UK, Germany, and Spain further open up Shippo merchants to an international customer base

March 10, 2022 – San Francisco, Calif. – Shippo, a leading shipping platform for growing e-commerce businesses and platform providers, today announced new partnerships with seven international carriers to support the expansion of domestic shipping services across Western Europe. The new carriers – Colissimo, Correos, DPD DE, DPD UK, Hermes UK, Poste Italiane, and Mondial Relay – give Shippo’s platform partners more options to ship domestically in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. This expansion also augments Shippo’s existing service area offered through an ongoing partnership with Royal Mail in the UK.

Parcel volume across 13 of the world’s major markets exceeded 131 billion packages in 2020, and that number is expected to double by 2026.1 Shippo’s expansion across Western Europe opens up a nearly $500 billion e-commerce market for businesses looking to scale internationally.2

This news follows the recent launch of Shippo for Platforms, which directly integrates Shippo’s full shipping capabilities into the existing experience for leading e-commerce platform providers – including Shopify. With the new additions to Shippo’s existing network of 85+ carriers, those same platform partners can now offer expanded carrier options to ensure their merchants have a wide variety of choices for domestic and international shipping – all from the convenience of their native platform.

Building on an already robust partner ecosystem, these new relationships only represent the first phase of Shippo’s international growth, and the company plans to expand service into additional European markets, including The Netherlands and Ireland, later this year. Additionally, Shippo will extend our existing carrier relationships to make them available for all 120,000+ Shippo merchants.
