Full Container Load (FCL) Shipping

What is Full Container Load Shipping

When the shipper requires the full space of a container. Materials or goods are not shared by any other shipper for the container being used and all goods within the container are put onto a single Bill of Lading.

Full Container Load vs. Less Container Load (LCL)

Full container load shipping means that the container in question is being used by only a single seller. Often the sender requires the entire amount of space a container can offer. However, even if the container isn’t completely filled, if only one sender is using the container it may be billed as FCL shipping.

Less container load simply means that a container is carrying shipments from multiple senders. There will be separate bills for each sender independently of each other.
